HighGear BPM software allows server administrators to integrate their user authentication with an Active Directory or other LDAP authentication server. If you want to use this feature, you must set up your HighGear server to use Active Directory authentication. To do this, follow these steps:
- In HighGear BPM software, go to the System Settings page
- Change the Use LDAP Authentication setting to Yes
- In the LDAP Server URL setting, type LDAP://<your domain>
- Click Save. If there are any problems connecting, you will get an error message. Simply fix the problem and click Save again.
Once the server is configured, you must configure each individual contact to use Active Directory authentication. To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to the Contacts tab, and open one of the contacts that should be authenticated with Active Directory
- Go to the Account Info page
- Make sure that User Can Log In is set to Yes
- In the Username field, enter the same username that is set in Active Directory
- Change Use LDAP Authentication to Yes
- Save the contact
- Repeat for each contact that should use Active Directory integration
